Sit back gonna tell you a tale
About a pirate crew and a hell of a gale
Battered and soaked down to their bones
But they wouldn’t give in to Davy Jones
The captain he was a rugged man
With a black eye patch and a hook for a hand
They were the fiercest crew in the seven seas
They left none alive and they took what they pleased
That night they were slumbering
After a particularly lucrative plundering
The cry came in the split of a sec
There’s a storm a-brewin’ all hands on deck!
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
We’re not afraid of a storm so let it come
A pirate’s life or his death at sea
Davy Jones makes no guarantee
So furl the sails
(Yo ho me hearties yo ho)
Dead men tell no tales
(Yo ho me hearties yo ho)
In the midst of this raging storm
The captain was in rare good form
He was in control while the harsh winds blew
But when the mainmast cracked the captain did too
A fearful glint in his fearless eye
The captain knew they were going to die
He shouted curses at the roaring waves
Soon to be their watery graves
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
We’re not afraid of a storm so let it come
A pirate’s life or his death at sea
Davy Jones makes no guarantee
So furl the sails
(Yo ho me hearties yo ho)
Dead men tell no tales
(Yo ho me hearties yo ho)
Well the wind backed off and the storm died down
The crew got up and they looked around
Everyone was accounted for
But the captain it seemed was no more
Literally and figuratively ripped apart
All that was left of the man was his broken heart
